1. Introduction

Welcome to StreetJams ("we", "our", "us").

StreetJams is a mobile application that allows users to discover, share, and interact with location-based items (e.g. street finds, shared objects, or reports) in their local area.

By accessing or using our app, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the app.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use StreetJams
• You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
• All information you provide is accurate and up to date

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure
• All activities under your account

You should never:

• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use a name you are not authorised to use
• Use offensive or inappropriate usernames
• Use or share another user's account
• Share login credentials

We may change, remove, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these rules or provide false information.

4. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of your content. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and distribute your content to operate and improve the app.

Your content must not:

• Be false, misleading, or deceptive
• Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
• Be illegal, harmful, abusive, or offensive
• Promote unsafe or illegal activities
• Contain spam or unauthorised advertising

We may review, moderate, remove, or restrict content at our discretion.

Information Only: Posts do not represent ownership, sale, or transfer of items. We do not verify legal status of items.

Responsible Use of the Platform

StreetJams is intended for sharing items already present in public spaces.

Users must not:

• Deliberately place or abandon items for posting
• Encourage littering or illegal dumping
• Misrepresent item origin or status
• Report hazardous materials, weapons, or unsafe items
• Interfere with scheduled municipal collections (e.g. council pickup items)

Users must comply with all applicable laws. We are not responsible for real-world outcomes.

5. Location Services

• Used to show nearby items
• May store approximate location data
• Can be disabled in device settings

6. Disclaimer of Ownership and Liability (No-Theft Clause)

Reports do not grant legal permission to take items. Users are responsible for determining legal status before interacting with any item.

Under Scots Law, taking lost or abandoned property may be considered “theft by finding”. Users should exercise caution and follow legal requirements.

7. Health, Safety, and Hygiene Disclaimer

All items are provided “as-is”. We do not guarantee safety, cleanliness, or condition.

• Second-hand furniture must meet UK fire safety regulations
